3 ways to drink coffee around the world
☕ Coffee is universal.
But every country has its own special way of enjoying it—often tied to culture, climate, or even the time of day.
At Columbus Café, we love to make you travel—so let’s take you on a journey through 3 coffee traditions we adore, and more importantly: how to recreate them at home.
🇮🇹 The Italian Espresso: Quick, Intense, Iconic
In Italy, coffee is no joke. It’s strong, short, and usually enjoyed standing at the counter—in just a few sips.
It’s the ultimate express ritual, whether it’s in the morning or during the 11 a.m. break, no sugar for the purists.
💡 How to make it at home?
Columbus Café espresso intense (capsules or coffee beans)
An espresso machine or moka pot
A simple mug for your home version

🇹🇷 The Turkish Coffee: Spiced, Slow, Traditional
Turkish coffee is almost like a ceremony. Prepared in a small pot (the cezve), it’s ground extra-fine, slowly heated with a bit of sugar (and sometimes cardamom) until it foams.
It isn’t filtered: the grounds stay at the bottom of the cup, and you take your time sipping it slowly.
💡 How to make it at home?
Choose a very finely ground coffee
Serve in a small cup and pair it with a sweet treat
🇻🇳 The Vietnamese Coffee: Sweet, Creamy… and Iced!
Vietnamese coffee, or cà phê sữa đá, is a real favorite:
Black coffee poured over sweetened condensed milk, served hot or over ice. An intense flavor, a sweet creaminess, and a delightfully indulgent texture.
💡 How to make it at home?
Brew a strong espresso or filter coffee (Columbus, of course)
Add 2 teaspoons of sweetened condensed milk
Serve over ice in a clear glass for the wow effect
